Award Notice Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (the Partnership) is the Regional Transport Partnership (RTP) for the west of Scotland. It is 1 of 7 RTPs established under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005 covering Scotland. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) manages bus shelters in the SPT area on behalf of a number of Councils and 1 of the requirements of this role is to arrange the installation of new or replacement shelters within the budget levels agreed with the Councils. SPT also allocates capital funding to improve shelter provision. We therefore require a contract to enable us to call off the required bus shelters when funding is available. The contract will operate for 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years on a year by year basis. The anticipated volume of shelters to be called off is in the region of 50 shelters per year but this will vary from year to year. At times projects may arise which result in higher numbers of shelters being called off. There will also probably be a requirement for some shelters to be fitted with illuminated 6 sheet advertising panels. We require a resourceful bus shelter contractor or contractors with a depth of experience who will provide SPT with confidence in their ability to react to our various requirements within strict specified time-scales. Delivery within specified time-scales is essential. Any additional costs incurred by SPT due to delay in shelter delivery will be deducted from monies due to the contractor. The contract is tendered as 3 separate lots - Lot 1 — Aluminium frame shelters with curved glazed roof; Lot 2 — Steel frame shelter with angled flat roof; Lot 3 — Shelter solar illumination system.
