Ultrasonic Simulation Equipment

Tender description

An ultrasound simulation suite was established at the University of Derby in 2014. Using the Medaphor Scantrainer platform, simulation has now been integrated fully into curriculum delivery and plays a key role in support for pre-clinical ultrasound skills development. Benefits include, development and assessment of basic image acquisition skills before students are required to scan patients, individualised application specific student learning opportunities, immediate student feedback on their performance (without tutor input), formative and summative assessment tasks and structured learning opportunities where remedial support is needed. With the success of this installation, the University is seeking tenders to extend and enhance the existing capabilities to include additional simulation equipment and software upgrades to the current system.
