Repair and maintenance services of catering equipment

Hertfordshire Catering Limited (hereinafter referred to as HCL or the Company) is a limited company, limited by shares and wholly owned by Hertfordshire County Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council). HCL presently deliver a catering service in circa 400 primary schools and 40 secondary schools along with other commercial units. As part of its catering service, the Company offer to its customers a repairs and maintenance service for the kitchen equipment in schools. In the main the Service is used by schools within the primary sector but in trying to expand the Service it is now been offered to the secondary sector schools and this will hopefully increase during the Contract Period. Therefore, in order to fulfill this requirement and enhance the service offered to its schools the Company is seeking a suitably qualified Contractor who can offer the Services required and also has the resources and vision to share in our future development plans. The Company is looking for one main Contractor who will be able to supply the majority of the Service itself and if necessary sub-contract to suitable local companies where applicable. The Service will be divided into two main elements: Part A. The Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Part B. The Responsive Repair Service (RRS) There will be a need for the successful Contractor to have a flexible approach as during the Contract Period the pattern, variety and volume of demand for the Service may be subject to change. Whilst the Company will be able to guarantee the work under the Planned Preventative Maintenance, it must be stressed that no guarantee is given or implied in respect of the amount of worked resulted from the Responsive Repair Service under any contract put in place as the result of this tender. This procurement is an Open (one stage process). Suppliers wishing to take part in this project are invited to ‘express interest’ which will give access to the full procurement documents in the e-tendering system.
