Summary of the work To manage one or more agile projects, to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled technology team. You’ll be adept at delivering complex projects, breaking down barriers for your team, and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 24 months, but may be shorter, depending on how the project develops and the needs. Latest start date 01/06/2016 Who Speclialist Work With Other Delivery Managers, Product Managers and Programme management team. What Specialists Work On Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently, Work with the Product Manager(s) to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories, Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team, Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production), Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice Skills & Experience • Previous experience managing the delivery or multiple technology projects or programmes (Scores 10%) • A good understanding of a variety of technologies such as connectivity, end user devices, cloud based applications. (Scores 10%) • Have demonstrable experience of working in a culture of continuous delivery and improvement. (Scores 10%) • Have proven experience balancing changing priorities and dealing with ambiguity (Scores 5%) • Have experience of being part of a multidisciplinary team (Scores 5%) Nice to Haves Have previous experience in a government transformation programme (Scores 5%) Work Location Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET Working Arrangments Monday to Friday on site. A professional working day, hours and working pattern as needed to deliver the service in an efficient way. Mainly based from our office in Westminster, London.
