Tender description

In order to fulfil its duty to provide certain services at the Port, the Contracting Authority has appointed an operator to provide an Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) Harbour Tug. The vessel is to be of a suitable design to undertake towing operations, ship assistance operations and general port duties. The minimum bollard pull of the vessel is to be 40 t ahead and 35 t astern. For towing operations, the vessel will typically assist vessels between the mouth of Lough Foyle and the Port of Londonderry (a transit of approximately 16 nm). The vessel should be capable of undertaking this tow in both the bow tug and stern tug positions. The vessel should be fully capable of ship assistance for berthing and un-berthing procedures. The successful bidder is responsible for design, manufacture, classification, delivery, commissioning and performance testing of the ASD Tug, together with the provision of training and ongoing supply of spare parts, and provision of a 36 month guarantee.
