Tender description

This is a notice for social and specific services in accordance with Directive 2014/24/EU Article 74 and relates to the provision of security services at the Royal Mint Site and Visitor Centre and Factory Experience. With over 1 100 years of history The Royal Mint Limited (TRM) is the sole manufacturer of circulating coins for the UK and the world's largest exporting Mint supplying to over 60 different countries. Wholly owned by HM Treasury, TRM also produces Commemorative Coins, Service Medals and has a developing Gold and Silver Bullion business all based on a 35 acre site in Llantrisant South Wales. Employing 800 staff in addition to 200 temporary flexible workers, the TRM Limited has operates 24/7 /365 with manufacturing capacity of up to 5 000 000 000 coins and blanks each year. In Spring 2016 TRM will for the first time in 1 100 years open its doors to the public with a Visitor Centre and Factory Experience which anticipated to attract over 100 000 visitors per annum. The current contract for the provision of security services at TRM site will terminate on the 6.7.2016. Therefore, TRM is inviting suitable companies to participate in the tender process for both the provision of security services to its main operational site and to the new Visitor Centre and Factory Experience as specified in the ITT scope of services. The commence date of services for the Visitor Centre is planned for Spring 2016 and TRM Main Site is 6.7.2016. Tenderers will be expected to provide manned security throughout the TRM site and for The Visitor Centre and Factory Experience also offering security coverage for Corporate, VIP and other events as may be required. Further details of the required services are specified in the ITT scope of services. The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (‘TUPE’) It is TRM's understanding that TUPE will not apply on termination of the existing security contract, on the basis that the individuals providing the services have constabulary status. However, TRM does not give any warranty to this effect. Please note that there are no indemnities within the current security contract which will provide the successful Tenderer with protection against any liability in relation to the relevant individuals arising from TUPE.
