Tender description

This service is an integrated evidence based service that will address prevention, early intervention and treatment for alcohol, drugs, sexual health and smoking. It has specifically been developed to meet the needs of young people aged 11 to 18. The service will address substance misuse including alcohol, drugs and tobacco as well as hidden harm, sexual health including sexually transmitted diseases and contraception; and the harms through associated risk taking behaviours. Key Service Outcomes: — To reduce the harm caused to young people partaking in exploratory behaviours — To reduce health inequalities amongst young people, particularly those considered most vulnerable to exploratory behaviours — To improve knowledge of issues and potential problems associated with drugs, alcohol, tobacco and risky sexual behaviours — To build resilience, coping strategies and improve decision making skills in young people — To improve the life chances of young people affected by a parents or carers substance misuse. The service will support delivery against the following Public Health Outcome Framework measures: — Under 18 conceptions — Chlamydia diagnoses (15-24 year-olds) — Smoking prevalence — 15 year-olds (placeholder) — Alcohol-related admissions to hospital — First-time entrants to the youth justice system — 16-18 year-olds not in education, employment or training.
