Burial Ground Footway Improvements

Tender description

Swale Borough Council is inviting Expressions of Interest to tender for the burial ground footway improvements at Halfway and Love Lane Cemeteries and St Catherine’s Churchyard. The contract will commence on 29 February 2016 and will need to be completed by the 31 March 2016. The successful bidder will be selected in order of the most economically advantageous tenders submitted. The contract covers various construction works associated with the footways in three burial grounds. 1. Halfway Cemetery, Sheerness – Removal and re-construction of approximately 155m sq. of footway throughout the cemetery grounds. 2. Love Lane Cemetery, Faversham – Removal and re-construction of 228m sq. of footway/carriageway at the north side of the cemetery and repair of approximately 40m sq. of pot holes throughout the footways. 3. St. Catherine’s Churchyard, Faversham – Removal of existing footway wearing course and replacement with new, approximately 31m sq. A temporary footway on the grass will need to be installed during the works with boards or similar as this area is a busy pedestrian route. Detailed design and location plans are available to view at Swale Borough Council Offices, address below. There may be variations to the amount of footway to be replaced / repaired as the works are undertaken, depending on the ground conditions at the time of construction. The Council understands that amendments to the final cost may vary if more works are undertaken than those originally quoted for at this tender stage. Expressions of Interest and Invitation to Tender (ITT) must be submitted / uploaded on the Kent Business portal.
