Water Framework Directive sampling of Transitional and Coastal waters in the Shannon, South-Western and Eastern Regions summer 2016

Tender description

As part of the national WFD monitoring programme the Environmental Protection Agency undertake water quality monitoring in Transitional and Coastal waters. This tender seeks to outsource 24 days (6 x 4-day weeks) of WFD sampling in transitional and coastal waters in the Shannon, South-Western and Eastern Regions. The tenderer will supply In situ measurement of physico-chemical parameters at multiple depths, sampling for phytoplankton and collection of water samples for nutrients, BOD and trace metals in accordance with specification of requirements at locations in coastal and transitional waters. The locations include the Inner Shannon Estuary, Berehaven, Ilen Estuary, Roaringwater Bay, Boyne Estuay, Castletown Estuary, Liffey and Tolka Estuary and Dublin Bay. Samples are to be delivered to EPA labs by 9.30 on the morning after sampling.
