Supply and Installation of LED Street Lighting Equipment and Related Services

Tender description

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham require a contractor to deliver a Street Lighting Renewal Programme. The programme will require the Contractor to deliver LED lanterns. Lantern integrated CMS Systems and a number of Street Lighting Columns in-line with the requirements of the Council. Replacement of the existing street lights with LED lanterns is an important element in achieving the borough's low carbon energy objectives. The Council is working to substantially reduce energy consumption and to produce a significant amount of heat and power locally. As technology develops it is likely that it will be increasingly economic to fit photo-voltaic panels to the street light portfolio; it is therefore a requirement of this tender that the replacement LED lanterns allows for the future installation of PV panels to the lighting column for export to the grid and/or battery storage of PV generated electricity.
