Tender description

Queen's University Belfast wishes to appoint a competent contractor(s) for the provision of inspection, repair and maintenance services to LEV Plant including Fume Cupboards, Extraction Systems, Clean Rooms, Microbiological Safety Cabinets and a Cat III Containment Lab. The proposed contract covers assets in a large number of buildings throughout the University Estate. The purpose of this contract is to ensure that all of the University's LEV plant is serviced and maintained to the current regulations and guidance as detailed in HSG258 Controlling airborne contaminants at work: A guide to local exhaust ventilation (LEV). The tender is divided into the following lots: Lot 1 — Fume Cupboards, Extraction Systems and Clean Rooms Lot 1 is for the servicing of LEV plant including: fume cupboards, extraction systems, laminar flow units and clean rooms. There are currently 513 units throughout the University. Lot 2 — Microbiological Safety Cabinets Lot 2 is for the servicing of microbiological safety cabinets. There are currently 196 units throughout the University. Lot 3 — Cat III Containment Lab Lot 3 is for the servicing of a Cat III containment lab. There is currently 1 unit within the University. Applicants are invited to tender for Lot 1, Lot 2 and Lot 3 or any combination. Lots will be evaluated independently and the University reserves the right to award each lot separately.
