Prior Information Notice — call for market information: The University of Sheffield is looking to make a significant investment in new Electron Microscopy equipment for our existing Sorby Centre. We are looking to purchase the following: 1. A high-performance analytic TEM/STEM (without aberration correction); 2. A medium performance TEM suitable for general materials microscopy; 3. A general user high beam current FIB suitable for, amongst other things, TEM specimen preparation; 4. An SEM with a large chamber suitable for in-situ testing; 5. Various specimen preparation facilities; 6. Improved detectors for some of the existing microscopes. This is not a call for tenders or a pre-qualification exercise. It is a market sounding exercise to provide advance information of requirements and open a dialogue with the supply chain.
