Young Peoples Specialist Drugs and Alcohol Service including Intensive Prevention Support

A Young Peoples Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service that will work in close partnership with key Young Peoples and Families services to ensure a multi-agency approach towards achieving successful outcomes and building resilience in Young People and their families. The Service is expected to provide a wide range of interventions which will incorporate the following: • Targeted Early Intervention and Prevention for those ‘At Risk’ – providing screening and brief interventions for Young People. • Harm Reduction and Specialist Interventions – providing a range of services / interventions from brief advice to evidenced based structured psychosocial interventions. This will include needle exchange and substitute prescribing when required. In addition the Service will also provide a Specialist Substance Misuse worker who will work alongside and under the direction of Families First Intensive Prevention Service Team (IPS), with a specific cohort of Young People at risk of becoming Looked After Children.
