Tender description

As from 1st October 2016, Halton Borough Council’s kerbside collected residual household waste will be required to be delivered to a Rail Transfer Loading Station for onward rail transport to an Energy Recovery Facility. The Rail Transfer Loading Station (RTLS) is located in Woodward Road, Kirkby, L33 3AR. The Council is exploring its options for the delivery of the waste to the RTLS and one option under consideration is for a 3rd party to deliver the waste on the Council’s behalf. This would involve the Council delivering waste to a 3rd party facility (which must be located within Halton’s geographical boundary) where it would then be handled, ‘bulked up’ and transported to the RLTS by the 3rd party. For further information please access the attached document. The closing dates for response is 10.00am on Monday 16th May 2016. Keywords: haulage, waste, transfer
