Tender description

NHS Blood and Transplant is a special health authority responsible for the collection, manufacturing, testing, storage and distribution of blood components, together with management of other supply chains including tissues, organs and diagnostics. NHSBT has a focus of patient donor and staff safety, blood component quality and sufficiency, efficiency and effectiveness. In order to improve quality and efficiency, NHSBT would like to explore availability in the marketplace of more automated donated whole blood processing systems that will provide for increased productivity in comparison with current technologies. NHSBT is particularly interested in systems that will automatically separate whole blood and manufacture platelets from a pool of buffy coats or suitable alternatives. NHSBT would like to invite suppliers of such technologies to a Suppliers Event in order to explore opportunities. Interested suppliers are invited to present their proposals at this event which will hold from 10:00-16:00 on Wednesday, 1.6.2016 at NHSBT's offices at 61-65 New Street, Birmingham, B2 4DU.
