Tender description

The Francis Crick Institute (‘the Crick’) is a brand new biomedical research institute due to open mid 2016 on the Midland Road near Kings Cross and St Pancras International railway stations. It will consist of 1 250 research scientists and 250 support staff. This will be followed by a 6 month migration period before the Crick becomes a fully operational Research Facility. The Crick will be looking to procure a number of different scientific equipment over the next 6 — 12 months. The different type of scientific equipment consists of but is not limited to the following: — Imaging / Analysis Systems — Various types of Microscopes, Micro plate readers, Cell Counters, Image based screening and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Spectroscopy — Atomic, Molecular and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Centrifuges — Floor standing, Ultra, bench top, Microfuges, Rotors and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Gene Expression and Genotyping Systems — Sequencers, Q/RT-PCR, Micro-array and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Weighing Systems — Balances (coarse/Fine) and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — General Laboratory Equipment — Microinjectors, Micropipettes, Pumps, Freeze Dryers, Sonicators, Vibrotomes, standard PCR Machines & Developers and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Incubators — Triple Stack, Shacking, Egg, CO2, Bench Top array and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — X-Ray and Elemental / Micro Analysis Systems — Diffraction, Elemental single / Poly crystal and Associated equipment, Maintenance and Servicing — Laboratory Equipment — Freezers, Fridges, Ice Machines, Water Polishers and Maintenance, Repair and calibration services — Anti-Vibration Tables The Crick requires different equipment under each of the key areas during this period of Migration to the new building. In order to procure the equipment various different approaches will be taken such as: — Use of existing Frameworks — I.e. UniBuy, Crown Commercial Services etc. — OJEU Tenders — Publishing of Tenders via Bravo Solutions (https://procurement.crick.ac.uk). May consist in creation of Crick own Framework. — Non OJEU — Low value tender/Quote process. The Crick will requires different equipment in various quantities over time, under each of the key areas during this period of Migration to the new building. In order to procure the equipment various different approaches will be taken such as: — Use of existing Frameworks — I.e. UniBuy, Crown Commercial Services etc. — OJEU Tenders — Publishing of Tenders via Bravo Solutions (https://procurement.crick.ac.uk). — Non OJEU — Low value tender/Quote process. For each area of equipment the Crick will use the most appropriate route from the above in order to achieve value for money given the scientific requirements and within the timings we are working towards. The Crick migration period will continue until January 2107. The Crick may also set up a Framework for the ongoing purchase of equipment that meets the requirements of the scientists and researchers at the Crick, within the categories set out above. Suppliers interested are required to email tenders@crick.ac.uk for further information, when it becomes available.. When requesting information, Suppliers are required to provide which areas of equipment they can supply and would therefore be interested should the Crick undertake any tender activity. The purpose of this PIN is to alert the market of the requirements the Crick may purchase in the next 12 months and to aid with reducing timescales in the procurement activities due to the limited time available prior to January 2017.
