Tender description

The Fast Air Support Team (FAST), part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to extend the duration of their existing contract with Martin Baker Aircraft Company Ltd (contract number FAST/00090) for the provision of Aircraft Assisted Escape Systems Support (Supply of Spares for Ejector Seats for the Hawk, Tornado and Tucano aircraft) for a period of 6 months. It is considered that this contract can be amended using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) Directive 2009/81/EC of the European Parliament and the Council (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) Defence Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. Only Martin Baker Aircraft Company Ltd currently has the specialist knowledge and access to the drawings for the Ejector Seats and the associated systems and fitments, all of which are required safety standards to be met for the provision of the spares.
