Waltham Forest Community Opthalmology Services

Tender description

The Waltham Forest CCG wish to commission a Community Ophthalmology service which incorporates the diagnosis and management of glaucoma patients, management of stable long term conditions including diabetic retinopathy and Age related macular degeneration (AMD) together with a Minor Eye Conditions (MECS) service which will will be responsive in offering direct access (on the day) and routine appointments depending on eye condition. This is to be delivered via a lead contractor model with appropriate sub-contracting arrangements in place. The service will address the needs of patients and provide access to services in a timely manner thus avoiding appointments at the local hospital.
