Tender description

UCC Dental School and Hospital is one of two Dental institutes in the state entitled to train dentists and dentist auxiliaries. The current facility houses c100 dentist chairs has its own Central Sterile Supplies department {CSSD} which is in need of urgent modernization . The facility is housed over two floors and is located fully within the grounds of the HSE operated Cork University Hospital site. Works will be required to be scheduled and planned to minimise risk and disruption to Staff, Students and Visitors to both the Dental School and Hospital and to the wider CUH site. The proposed development of a new CSSD facility is to be located within the existing facility in the existing lecture theatre, adjoining offices, corridors and locker room. The proposed CSSD space is c 300 m2, the works also include the decommissioning of the existing CSSD c100 m2 and relocation of plant and equipment to its new location. Displaced offices to be relocated to the existing decommissioned CSSD location. Changing rooms c 80m2 are also to be constructed in the existing court yard. UCC is issuing this information for applicants and is inviting Tenders under the open procedure for appointment of service providers. The purpose is to award the commission to the successful service provider. The construction consultancy services required to carry out this project will be procured on the basis of a single design team appointment. The selected team will be required to provide the full range of consultancy services for the delivery of the project including but not limited to the following. 1. Employers Representative 2. Architectural Services 3. Civil/Structural & Fire Engineering Services. 4. Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services. 5. Quantity Surveying Services. 6. Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP)
