Tender description

Safety Cameras provided by the Road Safety Partnership have been successful in reducing road casualties through deterring speeding and red light jumping. Much of the existing safety camera infrastructure in Surrey is the ‘Gatso’ brand using old ‘wet’ camera film technology. This infrastructure is becoming obsolete. Consequently in order to maintain the casualty reduction success of the existing camera infrastructure then this needs to be replaced with new digital camera technology. As well as maintaining the existing reduction in casualties at each site, the advent of new digital camera technology offers the opportunity of enhancing the level of enforcement deterrent and reducing road casualties still further. The contract term is variable and is for Surrey County Council.
