Tender description

Staffordshire County Council and NHS England are working in partnership to commission the following Sexual Health Services across Staffordshire • Emergency Hormonal Contraception • Contraception and Sexual Health Services • Genito-Urinary Medicine • HIV Treatment and Care Services We wish to improve sexual health by achieving the following:- • The early identification of sexual ill health • Promoting a culture of good sexual health • Shifting resources from treatment to prevention and • Focusing on outcomes and wider well-being The Council expects the majority of sexual health and contraceptive needs to be provided within easy reach of the majority of the population, with a mix of open access and timely appointments focused on meeting service user needs. The offer around universal and targeted prevention such as outreach provision especially for those deemed most at risk, shall develop considerably over the term of the contract. It is expected that services will make use of information and communication technologies to help address health problems and challenges faced by service users and to improve outcomes. The development of a sexual health integrated system will progress over time and aims to improve quality assurance across all front facing health and social care services. Sexual health services are expected to be responsible for ensuring that effective sexual health promotion, information, advice and guidance are provided to other health and social care services as well as prospective and current service users. All services will adhere to local safeguarding policies and develop effective referral care pathways to health and social care services such as termination of pregnancy, sexual violence, sterilisation services, mental health and substance misuse.
