Tender description

The Supervised contact service in Royal Greenwich will provide services for facilitating child contact with non-resident parent. The aim of the service is to offer supervised contact service to support contact arrangements for children who are looked after and those in care proceedings subject to supervised contact arrangement. The Supervised contact service enables the Royal Borough of Greenwich to meet its statutory duty in accordance with section 34, to allow reasonable contact between a child in care of the local authority and their families and section 17, Children's Act 1989 to secure the safety and well-being of the children within the family. The provider will work alongside the Council's own in-house contact supervision service at Erwood Centre to enable the Council to meet its obligations. The contract will be let for 2 years from the 1.9.2016, subject to an annual review of performance. There will be the option to extend the contract for 1 further year. The maximum budget available for the provision of this service is 240 000 GBP per annum. The contract will be let on the basis that volume of work is not guaranteed, and this value may increase or decrease over the lifetime of the contract subject to volume and the availability of funding.
