Provision of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Testing

East Northamptonshire Council is responsible for licensing Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Vehicles that operate within the district and therefore protecting public safety by ensuring that those licence vehicles are safe for customers to travel in. In order to ensure the vehicles are safe each vehicle must pass its MOT along with 2 Council taxi tests within the year. All new vehicles must also pass a Council taxi test before it can be licensed at the cost of the applicant. These are the tests that we require a garage to undertake to ensure the vehicles safety and compliance
