GB-Bristol: SBRI Challenge - Fuel and Lubricants

Tender description

The work is to undertaken in accordance with the SBRI application 59574-444188 part 8 submitted to and held by Innovate UK for the Fuels and Lubricants programme. Investigate the interactions of conventional and synthetic fuel composition on combustion vibration, acoustic signature and consequent hot-end stress/life. The key deliverables of the project are as follows: 1. Investigate the interactions of vibration, combustion instability, and noise when burning fuels at a range of equivalence ratios on a small combustor and single can RR spey combustor. 2. Investigate the interaction of vibration, combustion instability, noise and emissions when burning alternative and baseline fuels at a range of equivalence ratios on a small gas turbine (APU) platform 3.Develop models quantifying the effect of alternative fuel composition on combustor vibration, noise and combustion instability.
