Tender description

WCC is looking for a Provider (or group of Providers through a Lead Provider) to deliver an Equalities Service through a single contract. If the Service is delivered by more than 1 Provider, the Providers will work together to minimise duplication and ensure a cost-effective delivery model. The Service will work towards the elimination of unlawful discrimination, to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between people of different groups under each of the protected characteristics as set out in the Equality Act 2010 in the area of benefit within and across the Public and Third Sectors. The Service will develop meaningful dialogue with communities, Public and Third Sector agencies on matters relating to equality and community cohesion. The Service will raise awareness and publicise the rights and responsibilities of individuals, communities and organisations with regard to the Equalities agenda. The Service will influence Public Sector policy making, service re-design and service delivery. The Service will provide relevant information and advice to support individuals and communities to work towards the elimination of discrimination and promote equality of opportunity. The Service will provide specialist advice, support and information to clients in relation to incidents of victimization, discrimination, harassment and hate crime, and ensure effective signposting to other relevant specialist support services where appropriate. The Service will help move citizens towards greater independence and confidence.
