Tender description

Sportscotland was seeking to appoint a suitably qualified service provider to provide a series of external audits for partner Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport in Scotland (SGBs). Sportscotland currently invests in over 50 SGBs and annually awards an amount in excess of 15 000 000 GBP to these bodies as a primary means of fulfilling sportscotland's remit as the national agency for sport. Since 2002, sportscotland has contracted with suitably qualified service providers a series of audits across a range of business disciplines. The aim of these audits is 2 fold: To provide the SGB with a report that includes a series of recommendations to support and continually improve its governance and effectiveness, and To ensure that the governance and financial accounting of partner organisations is appropriate to safeguard the investment of public money. These audits are termed development audits and the subsequent development audit report is a tool to be used by the SGB and evidence for sportscotland that demonstrates the effectiveness of the SGB.
