Tender description

Bield is seeking to award a single-supplier contract for the provision of Insurance Services, covering all of Bield's insurance requirements. The intention is to award the contract to an insurance broker; however submissions from insurance carriers will be considered where that carrier is able to provide all of Bield's insurance requirements. Submissions for individual elements of Bield's insurance requirements will not be considered. For the purposes of this procurement process, an insurance carrier is considered to be ‘a company which issues and assumes the risk of an insurance policy’; an insurance broker is considered to be ‘an independent insurance agent who works with a number of insurance companies in order to arrange insurance cover for the client’. Our intention is to award this contract for a period of 3 years from 1.4.2016 to 31.3.2019, with the option to extend by up to a further 24 months in total. The decision on whether to use the extension option available will be at our discretion and will be based on a number of factors including performance, budget availability and market conditions at the time. In order to decide whether to bid for this contract, suppliers will have to review all of the supplementary information provided in the attached documents. These provide an overview of Bield's insurance requirements, claims history and various Bield policies and procedures which may be relevant.
