LCPH, within the next few weeks will commission a revised service for Health Trainers ( Lot 1) in community and primary care settings for adults who with interventions covering, weight, exercise, sensible drinking, social isolation, stress and anxiety could improve their health and well being. The Community Health Ambassadors ( Lot 2) will also operate in their communities in which they live and engage with the local people in order to effectively deliver health promotion information and the promotion of engagement with Primary Care as an initial point of access to other health services. Health Trainers will be Lay Health Professionals who can support people during a 12 week programme to make positive changes to their lifestyles which will allow them to improve their health or maintain their good health for a longer period. Community Health Ambassadors will be non NHS staff who are based and live locally. They will use their local and informative knowledge to promote healthy lifestyles and to provide health improvement information to their local communities.
