Tender description

The purpose of this call for expressions of interest is to ascertain the marketplace for the provision of an Interactive e-Learning Platform compatible with mobile technology using clinical virtual cases for medical students and healthcare professionals. A consistent research finding is that junior doctors are often ill-prepared to manage acutely unwell patients. There is a lack of educational materials available to allow medical students and junior doctors to practice applying the knowledge they learned in medical school to the diagnosis, management and treatment of patients. The School of Medicine requires an e-learning platform that allows their students access to a minimum of 100 clinical cases that cover all specialities (general medicine/general surgery/ and super specialities (e.g. paediatrics and psychiatry)). These clinical cases should be real cases that have been created by board certified practising clinicians in an Irish context and are recreated as virtual patients/scenarios. The School of Medicine requires an ‘academic reporting’ module that can provide data on student engagement and performance levels. Data generated must provide long and short case user stats for each student, scores achieved across specialities in long and short cases and ranked performance of each student — ‘best’ and ‘worst’ specialities. Reports should be collated and exported in a word file, every 6 weeks, for ease of usage and viewing. Data should be displayed as pie charts and bar charts.
