Tender description

The London Borough of Waltham Forest and Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have developed an Integrated Community Equipment Service. Both authorities are legally required to provide equipment to meet both health and social care needs for the residents of Waltham Forest. This means all parties have a shared interest in the improved management, performance and financial control and distribution of equipment. Equipment provision cuts across a number of clinical pathways, hospital discharge, reablement and aspects of social care for both adults and children. The service is a collaborative one, involving health and social care needs assessment. Currently the London Borough of Waltham Forest (LBWF) manages the Integrated Community Equipment service (ICES) and store for the Local Authority and Waltham Forest CCG. This service procures, delivers and fits Complex Activities for Daily Living (CADL) equipment for eligible people in their own homes. In addition to the above, the specification will include: • Minor adaptations currently procured via an external contractor. • Dynamics Equipment (mattresses, suctions cups, palliative care) currently commissioned by NELFT. • A number of other small provider contracts that currently sit outside of this contract including telecare. • Bathing which is currently an in house service • Integration with the current Retail Model (via Uniquis) Keywords: equipment
