Tender description

High Speed 2 (HS2) Limited (‘HS2 Ltd’) is responsible for developing and promoting the new high speed railway known as High Speed 2 (‘HS2’). HS2 will initially run between London, Birmingham and the East Midlands (Phase 1) with operational services commencing in 2026. It is anticipated that the planned extension of HS2, from the West Midlands up towards Manchester and the North West, and from the West Midlands up towards Leeds and West/South Yorkshire (Phase 2), will begin operating trains around 2033 as part of the integrated HS2 network with the rest of the UK rail network. The main works construction contracts (MWCC) are currently in live procurement. The requirement is to appoint an Insurance Broker to support HS2 Ltd in: a. broking the placement of the OCIP in the insurance market, administering the various insurance policies comprising the Owner Controlled Insurance Programme (OCIP) including providing claims management and other insurance-related support throughout the life of Phase 1 construction through to operational readiness of the railway and including also the placement/annual renewal and administration of the corporate insurance policies held by HS2 Ltd during Phase 1 construction, and b. optionally to provide similar services for Phase 2.
