Tender description

There is a requirement for different equipment types of ‘Yellow Plant’ for Crossrail. The Railhead profiler is vital to RfL's ability to operate a safe, reliable service on the new Crossrail line. The performance specification for the Railhead Profiling Machine has been deliberately engineered to allow for ‘Milling’, ‘Grinding’ or ‘Planer’ to be the technical solution for this procurement. The Railhead Profiling Machine will be bespoke to Rfl/Crossrail and will have to satisfy a Crossrail-specific Technical Requirements Specification (TRS). It shall be required to be able to transit on both Network Rail and the Central Section of Crossrail lines, which have some specific requirements unique to the Crossrail infrastructure. As such, the unit will need to meet the approvals for both NR and TfL / Crossrail standards.
