Alta Innovations Limited (Alta) Alta Innovations Limited (Alta) is the exclusive agent for the management, exploitation, protection and commercialisation of University of Birmingham intellectual property. Alta is looking to appoint (a) Supplier(s) who has/have specific technical expertise as well as general expertise to support its activities by providing specialist advice and patent attorney services. Alta Innovation has a requirement for patent attorney services cover the full range of technology research being carried out by the Colleges within the University of Birmingham. The list of Colleges is provided below: Engineering and Physical Sciences Medical and Dental Sciences Life and Environmental Sciences Arts & Law Social Sciences It is expected that the first 3 colleges in this list will produce the main volume of patents. Details of the Schools making up each of the Colleges and the main research activities within each of the Schools can be found on the University website at www.bham.ac.uk. The above services will apply to Alta Innovations Ltd and its associated trading activities, and the activities of the University but only where conducted through its agent Alta Innovations Ltd. The above services will only apply to new patent filings with the existing patent portfolio expected to remain with the current service provider. The potential provider must understand the confidential nature of the work to be carried out and ensure that its staff have been briefed to ensure all matters are kept strictly confidential. No details of work done may be disclosed to a third party without Alta’s express permission.
