Market Engagement on the reuse facilities at Leicestershire County Council’s Recycling & Household Waste Sites

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) wishes to maximise the amount of reuse that is achieved at its Recycling Household Waste Sites (RHWSs). This is in part driven by a need to reduce the cost of treating and disposing of the waste it manages but also a wish to maximise the benefit that the reuse items can provide to the public. This provides an opportunity for reuse operators to generate income from the sale of the items diverted for reuse from the RHWS. This soft marketing exercise sets out the nature and quality of reuse facilities LCC wishes to have in place at its RHWS. LCC is unsure whether there are suitable operators in the market so wishes to undertake a period of soft market testing or discussion with the market in order to determine if a suitable operator(s) exists and to inform the procurement process should LCC decide to undertake one. Please note that this is a consultative exercise and therefore any submissions made during this consultation will not be taken into consideration during any eventual procurement exercise that may follow.
