Tender description

Key Deliverables, Tasks and Provisions: — Expert advice to support land management strategies. — Expert guidance to local NR teams arising from location specific clearance or vegetation management programmes. — Mediation with external stakeholders and neighbourhood groups in advance of works. Where necessary to perform crisis resolution as a result of poorly executed or communicated works. — Mentoring of staff groups within NR on Tree and Land Management. — Mentoring of departments within NR who will communicate or liaise with external stakeholders and neighbourhood bodies. This is to embed and support proactive practices so avoiding crisis or reputational damage. — Establish working groups and develop the relationship for NR with various organisations. The purpose of this is to improve visibility, develop policy, enhance reputation and increase the sphere of influence. — Develop guidance material for specialist areas of tree management, environmental improvement and neighbour/stakeholder liaison. This material is to be briefed to the relevant key bodies within NR. — Co-ordinate trials for the use of trees or other specific vegetation to improve biodiversity, security or environmental sustainability. — Act as an independent technical expert for crisis resolution between NR and neighbourhood groups or external stakeholders. — Utilise local representatives to monitor performance of NR performance of tree management schemes. These representatives or agents are to be used to develop local stakeholder relationships. — Present to wider NR groups on case studies, lessons learnt and improvement initiatives. Requirements for potential supplier: — The supplier must have reputational credibility for with external stakeholders to include Government Departments, Local Authorities, Residents Groups, Charitable Bodies, Expert Environment or Nature Organisations. — Experience of tree management such they are regarded as experts by the wider industry. — Proven skills in communications skills, including briefing and strategy documents. — Experience in avoidance of and positive resolution to crisis. Nature of service provision: This is to be provided as a management service using a call off nature. Work streams are to be identified at the outset of the contract with flexibility to add these as new tasks arise.
