Targets for shooting practice

Tender description

The Corps of Engineers has a requirement for the supply and where necessary installation of Military ‘Pop-Up’ Target Systems for use on Tactical Field Firing Areas throughout Ireland. Target systems will be a mixture of portable Stationary Infantry Targets (SITs), Stationary Armour Targets (SATs), fixed location Mobile Infantry Targets (MITs) and fixed location Mobile Armour Targets (MATs). Systems will be complete with target mechanism, target holder and integrated communications. Systems must be capable of lifting a range of military silhouette targets appropriate to the type of target being simulated: Infantry or Armour (including full scale flank armour targets). Systems must be capable of registering and signalling hits from a range of ammunition calibers appropriate to the target type. All target systems will be capable of offering a thermal target facility. Mobile targets (MIT and MAT) will be self propelled mechanisms moving on an installed rail or similar system. The framework will include for the installation of the rail (or similar system) but not the enabling or civil engineering works required. Infantry target systems (SIT and SAT) will have integrated muzzle flash and sound effect simulators. All systems will be power-pack or battery powered and remotely operated via a programmable hand-held wireless controller capable of controlling multiple targets. The framework will also allow for the following: — Supply of single and multiple battery chargers. — Supply of documentation, manuals and software. — Provision of train the trainer, operator and maintenance packages. — Bi-annual servicing and maintenance. Systems may be procured on a Framework agreement over 2 years.
