Tender description

Rescue and emergency equipment. Flying clothing. The Manufacture and Supply of Life Preservers, Anti-G Trousers and Associated Spares. The Air Commodities Team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), intends to award a 14 month Contract to Survitec Group for the manufacture of the Mk42/43 Survitec Life Preservers and associated spares commencing in March 2016. It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 (DSPCR)). This is because Survitec owns the intellectual property rights to the design of the Mk42/43 Survitec Life Preservers. The MoD does not have, and no other party will be able to obtain, the technical and design information and/or Intellectual Property to manufacture the equipment.
