Tender description

IÉ seeks Expressions of Interest from ‘Lead Integrators’ for a Turnkey Project to re-power Class 201 Locomotives. The objective of the project is to deliver a significant reduction in fuel consumption based on current passenger / freight duty cycles and operational routes and also deliver significantly higher reliability rates to the current locomotive arrangement. The core requirement is for design, build and systems integration service delivering a re-powered Class 201 locomotive that meets or exceeds current performance characteristics. Most or all of mechanical, electrical, cooling and control equipment above floor level will need to be replaced requiring re-design and systems integration. Existing control equipment in the cabs and equipment below floor level will be retained e.g. bogies and traction motors. The ‘Lead Integrator’ is responsible for delivering all aspects of the project e.g. re-build, commissioning, testing, warranty support and compliance with all IÉ and Commission for Railway Regulation requirements.
