Tender description
The University of Sheffield is seeking market engagement for an Automated Molecular Beam Epitaxy Cluster Tool for the creation of Ordered Nanostructures based on III-V Quantum Dots. Parties will be invited to bid for the whole or parts of the equipment sought. This is not a call for tenders or a pre-qualification exercise. It is a market sounding exercise to provide advance information of requirements and open a dialogue with the supply chain. We are seeking information that will help inform the strategy, design and specifications for a forthcoming tender(s) for the above facility. In particular we seek to understand the types of facilities required by manufacturers for the correct working environment and operational site requirements that will be needed, such as floor loading, space, energy consumption, heat loading, temperature control, cooling water, gas inputs, extract ventilation or waste disposal etc. Further details are available via www.in-tendhost/sheffield, ref 212/YE. To include: 1) MBE growth chamber, high capacity sources and high speed pumping arrangements suitable for the production of III-Arsenide materials of the highest purity. 2) A dedicated cleaning chamber for surface preparation capable of both cleaning and etching processes using gas sources. 3) Sample entry lock and 2 separate outgassing chambers and storage capability for several platens. 4) A robust automated transfer system connecting entry lock, outgassing chambers, storage chambers, MBE chamber and cleaning chamber with space for further expansion. 5) Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer system (or superior surface analysis instrument) for routine monitoring of wafer cleanliness. 6) Automation and control software. Further details via the University of Sheffield web portal: www.in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield — please register and express an interest in project 212/YE/PIN where additional details will be made available.
