Research report on current and future housing needs of an ageing population

Tender description

This Request for Tenders relates to the provision of research on the current and future housing needs of older adults in Ireland, with a particular focus on the supported housing sector. The outputs will be: 1. Report which examines the economic and social opportunities and challenges in this sector and inter-alia looks at potential enabling framework conditions including financial, tax, and other instruments, international best practice and its applicability to Ireland 2. A nationally representative survey of older adults (55+) with regard to their current and planned housing requirements, their attitudes towards supported housing and what they see as barriers/attractions of same. This will cover the social, affordable and market spectrum, segmented by age (55+) and include a stakeholder perspective (family, carer etc) 3. A report into the findings from four Design Thinking/Creative Design workshops, providing deep insights into attitudes of older adults themselves and their families carers and other stakeholders gained through creative design/discussion groups 4. A report drawing together the conclusions and recommendations of the first three reports 5. Two oral presentations of the report, one to the Ireland Smart Ageing Exchange (ISAX) National Taskforce on Housing for Older Adults and the other to a specially convened conference.
