The University of Sunderland is 1 of 3 founding members (which are University of Sunderland, Gestamp and Hitachi) of The Durham UTC Limited trading as UTC South Durham. UTC South Durham, the University of Sunderland and its subsidiaries invites suppliers to express an interest in the following tender opportunity: UTC South Durham is seeking to appoint a supplier to deliver and support a suitable IT solution that is relevant to the footprint of the building and applicable for the estimated building users (staff, student and visitors) whilst enabling technology to play a key role in the teaching and learning provision that is available. This requirement will focus on the four core areas of Unified Network Solution, incorporating voice and data, infrastructure, IT Security and Managed IT Support. UTC South Durham (University Technical College) is expected to open on 5.9.2016, at Aycliffe Business Park, County Durham. UTCs are state-funded technical schools for 14 -19 year-olds designed to focus on aspects of business and industry through a partnership of employers and Universities, helping to bridge the skills gap faced by UK businesses.
