CPU 1820 Short Breaks Service

Tender description

Nottingham City Council seeks services to provide Short Breaks activities for children/ young people with special educational needs, and/or a disability. The provider shall offer a range of reliable local short breaks provision, tailored to families? needs. The services to be provided under this contract being: Lot 1 ? Short breaks activities during weekends (including Friday evenings) Lot 2 ? Short breaks activities during the school holidays, with a particular focus on the summer holidays Please note that providers may bid for either Lot or both Lots The duration will be for 3 years, with a possible extension of 2 years at the council's discretion. The provider must offer a range of activities during the agreed session times, to cater for the differing ages, needs and preferences of the children and young people. This could include, but is not limited to: ? ? social experiences such as trips into town, to the cinema, cafes, bowling ? opportunities to develop new skills ? sports e.g. swimming, cycling, football, Boccia etc. ? arts, crafts and design ? outdoor pursuits ? dance and drama ? life skills e.g. shopping, travel ? one-off outings/day trips as determined by the young people In delivering services for children and young people with disabilities, the provider must: ? ensure decisions are informed by the insights of parents and those of children and young people themselves ? have high ambitions and set stretching targets for them ? track their progress towards these goals ? keep under review the additional or different provision that is made for them ? promote positive outcomes in the wider areas of personal and social development, and ? ensure that the approaches used are based on the best possible evidence and are having the required impact on progress
