Tender description
Stockport and Trafford Councils are looking to commission Respite Services for Children with Disabilities in Stockport and Trafford under a framework agreement The purpose of services provided under this Contract will be to provide short breaks for disabled children to enable these children to remain living with their families, and where appropriate attend local schools, to provide support for these families and provide a high standard of care for the child. The aim being: a) To work supportively with parents and carers to offer a range of high quality short breaks for disabled children and their families. b) To provide highly trained and professionally supervised specialist workers to provide support to both disabled children and their families. c) To provide activities for disabled children which promote their social and physical development and encourage the acquisition of language development where appropriate. d) To promote social inclusion for disabled children by attending appropriate and relevant activities in the community. e) To provide breaks for disabled children and their family to allow parents and siblings to take time out from the responsibility of supervising or caring for the relevant person by providing a service to that person. The breaks service must always aim to provide a positive experience for the Service User (child) as well as a break for the carer. f) To assist parents and carers in caring for a disabled child by providing support in relation to living with and meeting their needs. g) To provide practical, domiciliary support or personal care where appropriate for disabled children. h) To provide, implement and maintain a proactive assessed support programme individually tailored to each child / young person’s and families’ needs as part of an integrated package of support to disabled children and their families.
