Provision of a Victim and Restorative Justice Service for the Youth Offending Service in Stockport

Stockport Council are looking to commission Victim and Restorative Justice Service for the Youth Offending Service for those affected by crime in the area. All identifiable victims of youth crime are offered the opportunity to engage with a Restorative Justice process. They ensure that 25% of victims are engaged with a restorative intervention and that a minimum of 85% of those victims taking part in a Restorative Justice process are assessed as either satisfied or very satisfied with their involvement. Also the development of a portfolio of reparation schemes and individual restorative justice work directly with victims is an overarching aim. The objective of these services is to ensure that: a) Reduce the trauma of being a victim of crime through contact with the victim worker b) Offer to all victims either direct or indirect restorative justice c) Educate young offenders and those on the cusp of offending around the effects of their behaviour on victims and the community at large This duration of this contract is for 3 years from the 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017 with the option to extend annually for a further 2 years.
