Tender description

Staffordshire County Council (SCC) is running a Sexual Health bidder briefing event on 25.1.2016 at Kingston Centre, Fairway, Stafford ST16 3TW from 10:00-12:00 to inform you about the future procurement of a new SSHS to be launched in February 2016. The Sexual health portfolio in Staffordshire (not including Stoke-on-Trent) is currently fragmented and the aim of the forthcoming commissioning process is to develop a coherent integrated sexual health response system that will meet the needs of the population. National guidance recommends the co-location of services to enable a ‘1 stop shop’ approach and has been seen to work well in highly populated urban areas. However, Staffordshire is a rural county with the majority of the population living in market towns and villages. It is therefore proposed to remodel provision across Staffordshire to — Develop an effective integrated sexual health care system available via all front facing health and social care agencies — Provide easily accessible sexual health services for all ages, delivered locally at times convenient to suit population needs — Increase prevention, early identification and rapid treatment of sexually transmitted infections including HIV — Reduce unwanted pregnancies — Increase vigilance in regard to vulnerable groups, sexual exploitation and violence, safeguarding and prevention of further harm. In order to achieve this model of care, it is desirable that applicants will develop partnerships with other qualified and appropriate Providers within primary care, third sector community services, and other agencies/organisations that have direct contact with target populations.
