Tender description

NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wishes to undertake an early market engagement for the provision of an Intermediate Dermatology Service. The early market engagement will initially invite interested service providers to complete and return the questions contained in the Request For Information (RFI), which is attached. The aim of the market engagement exercise is to help refine the commissioning approach and inform the development of the service specification and to gauge interest in this opportunity. Feedback from the market will help inform the procurement strategy including whether a competitive procurement process is appropriate. If NHS Croydon CCG determine that a competitive procurement is appropriate then the following indicative timescales are likely to apply: 1. March / April 2016 - Procurement will commence 2. June – July 2016 - Award of Contracts 3. October 2016 - Commencement of new Service (October 2016 – September 2019) NHS Croydon CCG is likely to offer the successful provider a three year contract with the option to extend for either 12 or 24 months. Background A consultant-led community dermatology service has been in place in Croydon since 2009. From 2012 a one-stop clinical service was commissioned. This has been provided by a single provider on an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) basis. The new service will ensure delivery of a community based, high-quality and patient-centred service for adults and children (over the age of 1 year), with common dermatological conditions, who are registered with a Croydon GP. For further information about the service please refer to the attached draft service specification. In 2014-15 over 4,000 first outpatient appointments took place with our incumbent provider, plus more than 1,800 follow ups and over 800 minor surgeries. In all over 6,700 patients were seen by the service, around 800 of whom were referred onward to secondary care. The current annual contract value is approximately £490,000 (2014-15 figure) paid-by-results on the following tariff: 1. First appointment = £80.00 2. Follow-up appointment = £33.00 3. Skin Therapies = £120.00 Request for Information (RFI) Questionnaire As part of this market engagement exercise NHS Croydon CCG want to hear from potential service providers to understand their views, any suggestions and proposals. To do this a RFI questionnaire has been developed and is attached for completion. Responses to all the questions should be provided as a single document and shouldn’t exceed more than 2,500 words. All submissions will be treated confidentially. Service Specification The existing service specification has also been attached to the Contract Finder advert to allow interested providers further information about the service. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED RFI IS 3pm on FRIDAY 22nd JANUARY 2016, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR COMPLETED RFI TO: CHRIS_WILLIAMS@NHS.NET
