Tender description

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility policies, ESB has implemented Contractor Employment Standards (CES) to ensure that all counter-parties, with whom it does business complies at all times with all employment laws applicable to their staff. CES ensures that all contractors working with and on behalf of ESB uphold the rights of their workers and employees under the relevant employment legislation applicable to the jurisdiction where the work is carried out. ESB has particular audit requirements in relation to service and/or works contracts awarded by ESB, where the contract has a significant labour content and the work is carried out in the Republic of Ireland. These audits are mainly targeted at contracts involving mainly craft and general type activities such as electrical and mechanical maintenance, security services, cleaning services, call centre operations, etc. Contracts for professional services, consultancy and IT related services are currently excluded. To help ensure compliance, all relevant contracts will be audited on a regular basis. ESB wishes to place a Framework Agreement for the provision of this auditing service. For the purposes of this notice, ESB means Electricity Supply Board, its subsidiaries and joint ventures.
