Provision of Support to Diabetes Prevention Programme

The Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) is high profile and requires buy in from a wide range of stakeholders. Diabetes UK (DUK) is the UK's leading diabetes charity, they have established networks and strategic insight into what is happening in relation to the prevention of Type 2 diabetes. As such DUK are uniquely placed to: • Ensure the DPP meets the needs of people at risk of Type 2 diabetes • Lead on patient and public involvement – setting up and managing the patient reference group and managing and co-ordinating insight activity throughout development and roll-out. DUK have agreed to act as follows: • Act as representatives on the Diabetes Prevention Programme Board • Act as a critical friend to the Programme. • Manage a Citizen Insight Panel of 18-25 people who will meet 4/5 times a year to translate citizen views into proposals for the programme as it develops. • Support stakeholder engagement and programme communication through their established mechanisms.
