University of Bedfordshire Bedford Campus CHP Replacement

Tender description

The University wishes to replace the existing district heating plant at their Polhill Campus, Bedford with a new CHP system. Works are to consist of the strip out of the existing district heating plant to N Block Plantroom and installation of a new CHP system and associated plant. This plant will include back up gas fired heating boilers. The existing district heating network and associated plantroom will also be upgraded to accommodate the works to the system. This procurement exercise is divided into lots. The contractor is instructed to price the lot entitled ‘Core Works’. The contractor is then instructed to price the remaining lots as additional to the ‘Core Works’. It is then at the discretion of the university to select any additional lots they wish to undertake in addition to the ‘Core Works’. The contract will be a JCT Intermediate Works Contract with Contractor Design Portion 2011.
