Notice of a Market Engagement Event for a Self Directed Support Enabling Service in Milton Keynes Milton Keynes Council is committed to supporting and enabling those with eligible needs to have greater control over their care and support. As a result, the Council is looking to develop its support to individuals wanting to take up Direct Payments and is considering procuring a service that will deliver a fully brokered Care & Support Plan. In the interest of stimulating the market and encouraging participation and innovation from providers, Milton Keynes Council is holding a Market Engagement Event with interested organisations. On 21st January 2016 From 11.30am to 1.30pm At Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, Central Milton Keynes Once this Plan is approved, those people who have a Direct Payment would be entitled to receive from the Provider any of the following services that they require to help them best utilize & retain that Direct Payment: • A Direct Payment Set Up Service – To complete and authorise all required legal documentation. • A Direct Payment Ongoing Support Service – That would act as an initial single point of contact for all queries or concerns regarding the operation of a person’s Direct Payment funded care and support. • Employment Information & Advice Services – For people interested in employing a Personal Assistant. • An Employment Support Service (including a Payroll function) - For people who go on to employ a Personal Assistant. • A Support with Direct Payment Paperwork Service – Giving people assistance completing the paperwork required by the Council regarding a Direct Payment. • A Holding Account Service – Whereby the Provider would make all payments to Personal Assistants, agencies and other providers and complete all the necessary paperwork to administer the Direct Payment on someone’s behalf. The client group would be from across all adult social car services and may also include clients from Childrens Services. The new contract’s duration would be four years (anticipated to start on 1st November 2015), possibly with the option to extend for a further two years.
